All is Self
Self portraiture serves me in healing, staying grounded in reality, and shifting a skewed perception of self. The way that I perceive myself upon catching sight of my reflection, how I feel taking up and moving within space and how I perceive my size in relation to others is distorted. Having awareness of the issue doesn't alter my experience but it informs the way I navigate negative thoughts and falsities. I incorporate a degree of abstraction and surrealism to highlight the conflicting aspects of loving and struggling to love myself and the beauty and mystery of the conflict within.
